Pretend
by Usha Satish
Pretend that you're invisible,
Pretend that you're not there.
Pretend that you're invisible,
Pretend that you don't care.
Pretend that your hurt isn't real,
Pretend your heart doesn't feel.
Pretend she's your friend,
Pretend to the end.
Pretend the emotions aren't coming out,
Pretend you don't want to scream and shout.
Pretend the light isn't shining,
Pretend you don't feel like crying.
Pretend your heart is light,
Pretend they're never right.
Pretend you are lonely.
Pretend she's your one and only.
Pretend he is your one heart's desire.
Pretend you didn't light the fire.

Love is wrong or is it right?
I tried to figure it out just last night.
Thinking about someone who doesn't think about you,
When we broke up it was over, it was through.
You still ride the bike with the small ass wheels,
The love we shared was never real.
Every day I think of you,
Not knowing what to do?
The letter of your name appears everywhere,
Over here and over there.
Will we go out again, I don't know.
Remember the time we met at the store?
I mean I loved you I loved you a lot,
And all you said was your kicks cost $250 a pop.

Searching for a Way Out
by Jennifer Ramos
I'm searching for a way out,
a way out to shout,
a way out to go about,
without being trapped in,
without no cryabout,
Everywhere I look, I only see four walls,
Trapping me in,
Trapping me in,
with no air to breathe,
with no place to be freed,
I'm lost, I'm dreaming, wondering when I'm gonna wake up,
Realizing that my life is so stuck
without people loving me.
My heart is bursting in flames,
And no matter how I try,
I can't put it out,
it's burning
it's melting
I'm trying to keep it in me,
but it's trying to disappear in moments of pain,
knowing that my life isn't a good place
But I realized that God loves me so,
knowing that he will never let me go because I'm trapped in,
I did find a way out,
a way out to explore the wonders of life itself,
knowing my lord is what makes life so special so open so complete
without my lord I will always feel incomplete
So searching for a way in my dream, the only way out is to wake up,
and know what, I am awake, because I am here,
Say I'm not afraid no more, I'm not afraid of the dark,
because I know and you all know that wherever I go the lord our father will show us the path of daylight, because I am loved! And I am freed once again!
The Apology
by Ashley dela Paz
Have you ever told a lie?
To someone that you loved
did it eat you up inside
to know they knew nothing of...
The deceit conceived
by your sorrow,
or your wretched confessions
that lived in tomorrow,
did you ever get what you were wishing for,
and then pushed it away?
Did it break your heart in pieces,
when it didn’t want to stay?
Were you filled with contradiction?
Have you played your cards all wrong?
Did you lie in bed and cry ALL night,
listening to one sad song?
Do you smile a real smile anymore,
or laugh a real laugh?
Have you sat behind a door,
and thought about what you had?
Well I did and I have and I was,
but saying sorry was never enough
so I write these words and hope that we’re over it
and hope that the pain is done.
Cause I really wish and always pray
that you’re going to be the one.
